Time, time, where art thou, Time
Wait for me, I'm in my prime
Time, time why go so slow
Look at me, I want to grow
Time, time, I'm old but wise
Wait for me, I want my surprise
We all have our own bugaboos starring us in the face. Is
patience supposed to be a virtue? Well, not with me. I
want it now, better yet, yesterday. A daughter just
said to me, " Mom, you have to be patient." No, no
I want my Rome built in a day.
Did you ever decide in mid-sprin to build a small
fence? Lucky you, if you get it in during that same year.
Winter's frozen ground doesn't make for good fencing
so build fences in the summer, or not at all. I believe
everyone in town is wanting a fence built right now.
It's just a tiny fence, one straight piece of fencing to
build a small corner dog run for people who visit and bring
their dogs. I've given the greater portion of the yard to the
chickens and I'm actually building country gardens around
the chickens. It's their's, all of it and no strange dogs allowed.
My idea of peace and tranquility has always been watching
an assortment of fat hens, scratching and pecking for bugs
in a garden of brilliant blooms. I do have that pastoral scene
so I will seek my patience there. (I hope)
lol chickens better up their game so you can make the patience claim. Then the pup will run around and no more patience will be found.
ReplyDeleteHate building fences, uggg, been there done that, no more. If I ever need a fence I'll higher someone to do it.
Pat
DeleteMy yard is already trickier than the Iowa corn maze at Halloween. It looks like I'm the keeper of the gates.
What a great idea to build a dog run for visitors dogs. Hopefully tall enough they can't jump out and get your chickens all hot and bothered.
ReplyDeleteI like sitting and watching chickens scratching around in gardens too, but it's been a long while since I've seen any.
River
DeleteChickens can be soooo peaceful when surrounded by tranquility but any
sudden noise and they are off and a-flutter.
You'll have to take a trip to the country and find some peace in the
country gardens. LOL
I need to build a fence to keep the geese out of my yard. Dang things poop all over.
ReplyDeleteI know how to fix those strange dogs...
Terry
DeleteHa ....Can't they fly in, too? You'll have to clip their wings too. lol
I'm not very good at being patient either. I can imagine how looking at chickens walking around can make you happy. Strange dogs and chickens is definitely a no-no. I hope someone can help you build your fence.
ReplyDeleteMurees
DeletePatience is often a crazy-maker. My imagination goes over-board when
I try to be patient. I hope everything is going happy in your part of the
world.
Built a stockade fence, chain link fence, and a split-rail fence.
ReplyDeleteI'm done with building fences.
Better to sit on the deck with a beer and brag to people about the fence I built.
Al
DeleteA beer, a brat and don't forget the sauerkraut. Oh you said brag, I thought it was going to a brat.
Well, you have done some fancy fence making in your short life span, so far, my friend. I'm probably better at mending them than building them, or
I would build it myself.
Stockade fence.... I think of the old forts and stockades..... Is that what you mean? You can't forge to leave the little holes for the rifles to take aim. We all should have a stockade fence, come to think about it.
Patience is overrated, especially when you know how things are supposed to be in an ideal world.

DeleteYeah it really is. If one knows what is the right thing to do, just do it. Don't namby-pamby around and wait for the right moment. Thanks for the motivator, kiddo.
I must've been bleary-eyed when I wrote, 'stooped'. That's so funny. Well, maybe it isn't. Stooping is not a hobby of mine. Hey, I was just wondering how my friend Belva was doing. I bet the plant looks great too.
DeleteIt's Sunday...
Such a fun day!
Hi! Have a great weekend!
DeleteWas that poem written by you? It is exquisite. "I want it now!" is one line from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
ReplyDeletePatience: thou art a strangler of time.
Susan
DeleteI wrote that rhyme ...... are rhymes called poetry, too? I don't know. I just like to write silly rhymes over at Pat's. LOL
Strangler of time.........Now there's something to think about.
As for wanting it now and Willie Wonka...there's got to be a lesson there, too.
I have a son who always says, "sleep on it first." Wish I could always learn to do that.
I was going to keep up with my new blog this summer, but too many things get in the way. I need a training reward.
I like your idea of peace and tranquility :) very similar to mine.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great weekend :)
Keith
DeleteHappy thoughts for tranquility. Today we have it for a while, at least.
Happy Independence Day.
I didn't know you started anew! Happy to find you. I saw a comment you left at Pat's. And to answer the question you left there, nonononononononono no. No, I never miss Michigan. Never, not once. I love where I am. :) Good luck with obtaining your scene. Patience is a virtue sometimes, but the waiting still stinks. ;) Happy 4th to you!

ReplyDeleteActually it's just words of an old song that I thought perhaps your Grandmother, Lucille, had taught you.
Gee how I wish again, I were in Michigan.... home on the farm. I always sing it when I hear the words Michigan. LOL
Ah you took me back for a second. She used to sing songs all of the time. I don't know that one though. :)
DeleteHi Belva. I went to a live dance show and it made me think of you and (and my gram, who loved to dance and loved to watch it), so I am just moseying on over to say hello. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
